Mindfulness Guidance for Life and Relationships (One-on One)

Are you struggling to make a life decision? Does stress sometimes overwhelm you? Would you like to get better at listening to the intuition in your body, and deepening your relationship with yourself as well as other people?

Mindfulness can help us feel calmer, more connected to ourselves and others, and more able to see the difference between what we think we should feel and what we really do feel. This helps us trust ourselves better and make courageous choices towards the life we really want to be living–and still love and accept ourselves when everything falls apart. One-on-one mindfulness guidance is a form of emotional support that uses tools from yoga philosophy and meditation as well as Western modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy to help build your confidence, self-trust, emotional intelligence, and relationships with others. Talking confidentially with someone who will listen and support without judgment can help you explore your own feelings and what might be holding you back in your life.

These sessions are mostly conversation-based. We may do some meditation or grounding exercises but no physical yoga postures. Package includes 5 initial sessions with an option to continue as long as you need. Sessions are generally held at Ocean and Crow Yoga studio, but can also be done at my home, your home, or over Skype if needed.

Julie Peters, MA, E-RYT 500, has been practising yoga for over 20 years, and it has seen her through an anxiety disorder, an eating disorder, and many ups and downs along the way. She also has a masters in English Literature from McGill University and writes about yoga and mindfulness for Spirituality and Health Magazine and in her 2016 book Secrets of the Eternal Moon Phase Goddesses: Meditations on Desire, Relationships, and the Art of Being Broken (SkyLight Paths). She has been trained in many modalities of yoga, meditation, and other ways of developing healthy tools for coping with stress. She also runs and co-owns Ocean and Crow Yoga studio in Vancouver with her mom, Jane, where she teaches yoga, teacher training, and teacher mentorships.
